CORBA is a mature, standard middleware that combines the interoperability, deterministic execution, and absolute dependability required by distributed embedded systems. CORBA standardizes the interoperability, and Real-time CORBA defines the deterministic execution platform that these systems need, but the full versions of these specifications were designed for a resource-rich, dynamic environment.

Most if not all middleware that exist take their lead from the OMG’s CORBA standard, this course will position you with the broadest possible understanding  of the middleware market.  The course brings to life the whole reason for CORBA by focusing on the architectural aspects of Distributed Object Systems and how to implement such systems using C++.

Interfaces

Whether your building a SOA, EA or using UML for Systems analysis and design, this is an important concept.

Following on from our previous T&T Abstraction, interfaces are an integral part of good software engineering.  They come in all forms; programmatic (Java, CORBA IDL etc.), SOA (service descriptions), Web Services (a WSDL definition).  These are just a few forms that they take.

Interfaces separate two concerns, the use of s service and the implementation of that service...
